Health and wellbeing take centre stage at Melbourne Square
There is no doubting 2020 has been one of the most challenging years in recent memory. While it stopped our great city in its tracks momentarily, and many others across the world, our recent stints in lockdown have given us at Melbourne Square an opportunity to observe the situation evolving around us and realise the importance of wellness in our everyday lives.
Improving our wellness starts indoors – where we spend up to 90 per cent of our time.
During the global pandemic, we’ve learned how to be healthier, happier and more productive while spending extra time at home. Which is why we are incredibly excited to have partnered with global wellness real estate pioneer Delos to integrate advanced wellness technology solutions in our new Life & Style Edition apartments. And current residents can also choose to upgrade their living spaces with the same ‘healthy home’ technologies if they are looking to inject a wellness boost into their homes.
Since 2008, Delos has been merging both the building and health sciences to improve the health and wellbeing of occupants in the built environment.
In a residential setting such as Melbourne Square, Delos’s healthy home ecosystem – DARWIN – helps to improve the health of residents by optimising the three key health pillars of air, light and water.
DARWIN is controlled by a centralised touchscreen tablet which configures integrated wellness solutions like advanced air quality sensors, supported by HEPA air purification units, filters that strip drinking water of odours and potentially harmful microscopic particles such as lead and chlorine, as well as passive and programmable circadian lighting which enables a better night’s sleep and boosts productivity levels during the day.
In a time where we are critically aware of how the environments around us can affect our health, these simple, everyday wellness interventions available in our new collection of two and three-bedroom apartments also help put our bodies in the best possible position to fight viruses, prevent asthma and allergenic symptoms, and improve our moods – enhancing our wellbeing more broadly.
The DARWIN ecosystem can also be controlled via your smart phone or portable tablet, allowing you to monitor and mitigate potentially harmful elements that can occur inside your apartment from any location.
At Melbourne Square, we believe everyday wellness extends beyond these wellness technologies and into our vibrant village-style retail mix featuring Victoria’s first double-storey Woolworths supermarket – meaning Melbourne Square residents can rest assured knowing fresh, healthy produce is only moments away from home, without having to jump in the car.
Wellbeing and a sense of escapism can also be achieved through a mindfulness session or stroll with the family or dog in our beautiful TCL-designed park which opened earlier this year. And for those looking to stretch the legs further and break a sweat, one of our city’s most famous destinations to exercise and relax – the Royal Botanic Gardens (aka ‘The Tan’) is only a short walk away too.
As more normality is restored across the state, this also means our art loving residents can visit their favourite neighbouring institutions like the National Gallery of Victoria, The Melbourne Theatre Company and Malthouse Theatre – all of which are just around the corner.
In the coming months we are also looking forward to opening our world-class residential amenity like our outdoor pool and terrace with private cabanas, level-54 lap pool, lounges, private dining rooms and entertaining areas, virtual golf simulator and extensive gym facility. dining rooms, entertainment kitchens. These resort-style private conveniences have all been incorporated with a focus on resident wellbeing and relaxation while promoting social connection.
From all of us at Melbourne Square, we look forward to continuing this journey of wellness with you and realising the full potential of our vibrant new precinct’s journey to promote everyday wellbeing!
