Introducing Hilton Melbourne Square
OSK Property, the developer of Melbourne Square, is proud to announce it will bring the world-famous Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand back to Melbourne again with ‘Hilton Melbourne Square’.
After announcing Hilton as the preferred operator of Melbourne Square’s hotel back in January, and following a successful planning and negotiation process, Hilton and OSK Property can now announce the official signing of the deal.
The brand new hotel will be a major meetings and events hotel for Melbourne. It is the second Hilton hotel to be recently signed, in addition to Hilton Melbourne Little Queen Street.
Hilton Melbourne Square will take up residence in one of Melbourne Square’s six towers and play a key role in OSK Property’s vision to deliver a truly world-class mixed-use development to Southbank, which will comprise extensive residential and commercial spaces, specialty retail and 3,700 square metres of open parkland.
With the construction of the hotel set to commence in 2020 and first bookings expected for early 2023, Hilton Melbourne Square will feature 600 spacious rooms, including 28 suites and one Presidential Suite.
“Having recently signed Hilton Melbourne Little Queen Street, we are thrilled to have now also signed another Hilton Hotels & Resorts property with Hilton Melbourne Square, this time a major meetings and events property, ” said Heidi Kunkel, Vice President, Operations, Australasia, Hilton.
OSK Property Chairman, Tan Sri Ong is delighted to have partnered with Hilton on this landmark hotel.
“This new hotel will offer extensive, state of the art convention facilities capable of hosting the world’s largest conventions in addition to capitalising upon a very robust local demand for function facilities,” he said.
“Hilton has an exceptional reputation in the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions space and we are excited and confident to have Hilton driving this business within our new facility, together with 600 cutting edge hotel rooms. Hilton Melbourne Square is a superb complement to the broader Melbourne Square mixed-use precinct.”
Hilton will manage the 600-room hotel under a management agreement with Yarra Park City and is slated to open in early 2023, with construction to commence in 2020.
